Today’s Sermon – Now is the House                                                                  Ephesians 5:15-17

15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

Opening Thoughts by Pastor Hal

Introduction : Ephesians 5:15-17, this passage of Scripture will help us to look forward to the new Year 2018, if we truly listen to what God Has To Say. This passage of scripture presents some important lessons that we need to consider.

[-] Our Time On Earth Is Limited

Psalm 39:4 (NIV) : “Show me, Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is.

Psalm 90:10 (NIV):10 Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures;

yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.

[-] Make The Most Of Every Opportunity (Ephesians 5:16, Luke 10:40-42)

Ephesians 5:16 : 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

Luke 10:40-42 : 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[a]Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

[ Martha did not realize the Importance of the Moment – We need to Listen to God ]

Are you Overloaded??

[-] Understand What the Lords Will Is (Ephesians 5:17)

Ephesians 5:17(NIV) : 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

[-] Concluding Remarks

Life Is Now, Not Next Week, Not Next Month, Not Next Year

O Come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.
