Today’s Sermon – Praise the God of Living Hope [ 1 Peter 1:3-9 ]
Praise to God for a Living Hope
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Praise the God of extraordinary inheritance 1 Peter 1:4.
Praise God for our extraordinary inheritance; salvation and all its gifts.
[- 1 ] Praise God our Inheritance is imperishable
Hebrews 16 Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore
God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

[- 2 ] Praise God our Inheritance is undefiled
Jeremiah 2:7 : 7 I brought you into a fertile land to eat its fruit and rich produce.
[-] Undefiled is “Pure”
[-] Without Stain or Blemish
[- 3 ] Praise God our Inheritance is unfading
1 Peter 1:23-25: 23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living
and enduring word of God.
[- 4 ] Praise God our inheritance is secure
17 But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. 18 They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly esires.” 19 These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.
20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
22 Be merciful to those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.[f]
[- 5 ] Praise God our inheritance is genuine
1 Peter 4:11: 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
[-6] Praise God our inheritance is our birthright.
Hebrews 12:28-29: 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken,
let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,
29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”[a]
